Rapidly evolving production and organizational processes demand intelligent solutions, and the PSI Software SE delivers them to support this transformation. The company has made a name for itself as a software provider for highly specialized industries and offers unmatched expertise.

The challenge we faced: Each business unit had developed its own topical focus and, in some cases, even standalone websites.

The existing reality

  • A multitude of independent websites offered a chance to consider various perspectives and approaches.

  • The brand’s presence did reflect the diversity of the business units, but there was still room to increase consistency and recognition.

  • Different information architectures enabled flexibility while also presenting an opportunity to make user navigation clearer and more efficient.

  • Efforts to maintain numerous systems underlined the importance of a centralized, harmonized solution.

The vision: A unified, consistent online presence that establishes PSI as an umbrella brand, presents its products and solution expertise clearly and understandably, significantly enhances the user experience, and, last but not least, simplifies website maintenance. With the right approach and a shared focus, this vision became attainable, and together we made it a reality.

1. Users first: the user panel

UX means: Don’t guess. Ask.

To understand the needs of the target groups, we established a user council featuring numerous marketing and sales representatives, IT experts, and PSI Software SE customers who were all regularly surveyed and invited to contribute their perspectives. Based on their input, we developed user flows, which were then validated and optimized in testing by customers. In addition to producing a wealth of insights, this taught us what is truly essential – and what is unnecessary.

Standardized user interviews identified the most important user needs and resulted in relevant personas and wireframes that specifically address the needs of each target group.

Bonus effect:

Customer loyalty grew

PSI Software SE customers who participated not only found it exciting to be part of the process; they also saw it as an opportunity to help co-create the future. Now that is customer engagement at its best!

2. A unified design and a clear structure

Structure creates orientation and efficiency. Using a well-thought-out and clear navigation structure, we guide users to desired content intuitively and quickly. The product portfolio for different industries is bundled in a central area, focusing on solutions rather than products.

With targeted search and filtering for the target groups, customers can find relevant solutions faster and make more specific inquiries. This solution not only adds clarity to the product range; it also reinforces the PSI brand as an innovative, integrated solutions provider.

Making synergies visible: Customers can quickly identify PSI Software SE’s extensive expertise thanks to interactive features and cross-references that highlight the connections between various business unit products.

A consistent design for a unified brand presence

A well-conceived, unified design communicates PSI’s innovative power and strengthens its brand recognition. Consistent design elements are not only visually coherent; they also improve the user experience by fostering orientation and trust.

To retain these advantages in the long term, all design elements were incorporated into a comprehensive design system. This system makes it possible to create content efficiently, coordinate global teams better, and ensure a consistent brand presence across all touchpoints. It also provides the foundation for a scalable and forward-looking online presence that can respond flexibly to new requirements.

3. Transparency and teamwork – checkpoint meetings

For projects of this magnitude, interdisciplinary collaboration is essential. Specialists in information architecture, design, frontend, backend, and project management from dieFirma.experience design worked hand in hand, both internally and in close collaboration with users and relevant PSI Software SE representatives.

Regular checkpoint meetings provided a platform for dialogue. Editors and other PSI Software SE representatives were actively involved, fostering a shared understanding and generating valuable ideas.

In addition to improving the project’s quality, this open exchange also made the collaboration very inspiring and motivating throughout the course of the project.

Building up internal UX proficiency

The PSI team was continuously trained in UX principles, sustainably increasing the UX maturity at the company. User-centric approaches were strategically integrated into the entire process, resulting in a more efficient and user-friendly online presence. These advancements make UX a permanent component of PSI Software SE’s website strategy and improve the long-term quality of the user experience.

The result: user-friendly, efficient, and strong

From fragmentation to a clear structure: The PSI website relaunch goes beyond just a fresh coat of paint. The site now serves as the digital flagship and launchpad for a digital future where innovation, efficiency, and user orientation come together harmoniously.

A better user experience:

Intuitive navigation, clear product presentation, and specific filters for the target groups help users quickly access relevant information and contact experts directly.

A consistent brand presence:

Industry-relevant trending topics and a clear focus on customer needs sharpen the brand profile and futureproof the website. A consistent design reinforces the perception of PSI as an innovation leader.

More efficient processes:

Changes can be implemented faster thanks to centralized content and a modular design system.

Conclusion: A UX strategy pays off

The redesign of the PSI website shows how important the user perspective is. A strong brand presence, combined with a well-conceived user experience, creates trust and offers order and structure. For target groups, this means:

  • The range of products and services becomes more understandable and can be more precisely aligned with the target groups’ needs.
  • Important processes, such as booking training sessions, run more efficiently and quickly.
  • The modular structure of the design system enables fast and effective development of new content.

Thanks to an online presence that is flexible and scalable, PSI has the tools to remain an innovation leader in the future.

By joining forces, both internally and externally, we took our digital presence to a new level. Our new, consistent brand presence brings together the diversity of our business units and reflects our ambition to deliver integrated, forward-looking solutions.
